One UI 4 is enhanced to provide more comfortable and intuitive design for everyone. It also allows you to express your own emotions right from your keyboard in the most effective and fun ways. And you can rest assured that your privacy is under your control with strong protection.

Interface Design
Quick panel
• It is easier and more convenient to use by improving templates and menus on the notification card. 
• The brightness bar's design changes and location shifts have further improved usability. 
Indicator
• To protect privacy, we show green dot on upper right side when any app uses camera or microphone. User can be notified camera or microphone is being used through it. 
Charging
• When charging started, you can see different visual effect according to the charging power stage, so more intuitively perceive different charging speeds 

Personalization & Expression
Expression bar
• Create own emoji stickers using two different emotions and share it
• New downloadable stickers: 2.5D animated stickers based on emoji images
AOD
• AOD GIF provides more tasteful GIF stickers. So, you can not only find new GIF stickers in AOD, but also you can download them via Galaxy Store. 
• New feature is added that AOD gets to turn on when a notification newly comes. So, you cannot miss new notifications. 
Photo/Video editor
• Improved editor layout including unicode sticker gives fun and interactive contents editing experience. Create your own video collage by combining multiple images and videos from your Gallery. 
• Renewed photo editing experience with the all new Light Balance menu: edit the overall tone on a more advanced level than before. 
• Just like Photo editor, revert edited videos to their original versions at any time, even after they’re saved, so you never lose a shot. Enjoy enhanced and immersive video editing experience with Highlight reels
Galaxy Intelligence
• When sharing photos, we suggest automatic enhancement buttons such as crop, tilt, rotate, remaster intelligently by analyzing photos. You can share automatically enhanced photos easily in the sharing screen. 
Share sheet
• Share Sheet layout and settings have been updated. Direct share and app list can be scrolled left and right respectively. The list of apps can be customized in the settings. 

Enhanced features
Home screen
• Supports aesthetic widgets that could make your Home screen more beautiful. 
• The widget list has been improved to help you check for the recommended useful widgets for you and find widgets more easily. 
Multi-window
• You can resize picture-in-picture by pinching it in and out. 
• You can pin the window option menus to the header of pop-up view. 
Lock screen
• Improved usability of the lock screen widget. A monthly calendar is displayed in the Calendar widget, and a Voice recorder widget has been newly added. 
• The usability of the Music player on the lock screen has been further improved. It is possible to set the Audio path. The control buttons of the music player on the lock screen can be changed according to the music app. Also the transparency of the player background can be set. 
• New feature is added that AOD gets to turn on when a notification newly comes. So, you cannot miss new notifications. 
Edge screen
• When the panel was open, the outside area(Blurred) of the panel that covered the screen was removed. Now you can use a wider screen while using the Edge panel. 
Communication
• Added criteria for displaying contents (Photo/Video, URL, Others) on search screen in Samsung Message. 
Pictures and videos
• Improved the simple Camera preview to enjoy shooting moments. 
• Pro/Pro Video : When grid lines are activated, horizontal level is shown. Top view is also supported. 
• Quick Take : Hands-free quick take recording is available by dragging to lock icon. 
• Single Take : Provide additional time to avoid missing important moments during recording. 
• Revert remastered pictures to the original versions at any time, even after they’re saved. 
Settings
• Added new menu for safety and emergency. You can check and quickly set safety and emergency related item. 
• Search features has become more convenient. If you don't see the results you're looking for, try using related search. 
• Mobile data only apps settings are initialized. So you need to reset each app. 
Device care
• Represent the device status as smiley face emoji. 
• Check and fix apps with battery and security issues on the main screen. 
• Provide the linkage to Software update and Samsung members (Diagnostics). 
Samsung Keyboard
• 'Expression bar', the improved UI for emojis, GIFs, and stickers, is applied. 
• Provision of the smart English correction function. 
Digital Wellbeing
• Driving Monitor feature allows to monitor your phone usage while driving. You can see which apps and how long time you use while driving and it will help you form a habit of using a mobile phone for safe driving. 
Productivity
• Experience more search results in the all new design while typing keywords in the address bar of Samsung Internet. 
• Add Search widget of Samsung Internet to home screen to use the easy and improved search experience with the search engine you set. 
• Dual clock widget provides a different background color according to the day and night of each city, making it easier to visually recognize. 
• Use better Calendar – New look and feature make it easier to add and find your events. 
• Add an event instantly through the quick add area in Calendar. 
• Find the events you need more easily with new search features in Calendar. 
• Use a new widget showing a simple month view and today’s events
• You can make shared calendars and reminders easily and add members to them. 
• Since we redesigned the Calendar month view so previous S-Pen handwriting may not fit; however, you can relocate the objects on write mode. 
• You can change the colors of Basic group and Shared groups through ‘Manage categories menu’ in Reminder. 
• In My Files, the Recent files area has become larger and various additional information is provided, making it easy to find recent file you want to find. 
• You can find files better with additional search features like correction of a typo in My Files. 
Samsung DeX
• App compatibility improved to provide more apps could be resized. 
• You can change the touchpad scrolling direction from DeX settings. 
Samsung Health
• Add My page tab
• Add Gender option "Prerfer not to say, None of above" on profile
• Add 0 minute after snoring was detected
• Update data order to Weight/Body fat/Skeletal muscle after body composition was measured
• Add event challenge on Together
• Add three snacks on Food tracker
Bixby Routines
You can expand automated experience with newly added conditions and actions. 
• Added new conditions which check Alarm’s dismissed status, during call, keyword contained on notifications and etc. 
• Added new actions related with Clock such as changing the alarms' status, setting the timer and stopwatch. Plus, other useful actions are also added to connect or disconnect a specific Bluetooth device and etc. 
• Added Advanced options such as Wait before next action, Confirm before next action and Show action list. 
• Reduced the constraints of conditions and actions combination, making it easier to create your own routines. 
• You can customize routine profile by using Camera or images in Gallery. The profile can be applied to Homescreen widget also. 
Tips
• To help you use the new Galaxy easily, we provide preview videos of main contents when entering Tips app. 

Privacy
• The permission usage history has been added so that you can check and manage the permissions used in your device at a glance. 
• You can see which apps are using the permissions, and you can directly control the permissions of these apps. 
• Start Samsung Internet in Secret mode to protect your privacy while you were browsing in Secret mode. 

Accessibility for everyone
Accessibility features provided in One UI 4 helps you do what you want to do more convenient
• Moving your mouse pointer onto corners of the screen is a faster way to do actions through Corner actions
• You can adjust contrast and size to fit you at once by setting Display mode. 
• Floating accessibility button saves your efforts then before
• Better visibility with Reduce transparency and blur and Extra dim, you feel more comfortable to see the screen
• Flash notification can be set to different apps and colors, you can clearly distinguish notification type
• Magnifier window is merged into Magnification, you can easily change Magnification type

Additional improvements
• You can change the order of actions when you touch and hold an action on Bixby Routines edit page. 

Some apps will need to be updated separately after the One UI 4 update. 

App copies made using Dual messenger can no longer access SD card files directly. To share SD card files in an app copy, select the files in Gallery or My Files, tap Share, then select the app copy.

How to flash firmware

1. Extract (unzip) the SM-G991B_XID_G991BXXU3BUK8......G991BXXU3BUK8.zip file. using WinRAR or 7-Zip.
2. Download Odin Tool 3.14.1
3. Extract Odin and open it.
4. Reboot Samsung Phone in Download Mode (hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons / hold Volume Down + Bixby buttons then plug-in cable)
5. Connect you Samsung Phone and wait until you get a BLUE sign in Odin.
6. Add the 1 file Samsung firmware to AP/PDA or 4 files Samsung firmware (AP/BL/CP/CSC) to it's slots.
7. Do NOT tick any extra boxes. The only options to be ticked are F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
8. Click the start button, wait for Odin to say 'PASS' in a GREEN sign. Once the flash is complete, your phone will reboot, and you can disconnect your phone from the PC.
